Hey,

I know its been a while since I've last posted, but bare with me. I've moved to Toronto and my home computer doesn't have internet access yet. Don't worry, I haven't stopped drawing, and as soon as I have access again I'll start posting my art.

So, its been a while since I've posted anything, but I have my reasons. It's been super busy at work and I've been caught up in reading the Wheel of Time series in my free time. If you haven't read the books, I recommend them; way better than the Lord of the Rings.

Anyway, here are the few sketches that I've come up with as of late. None of them are all that great and I've been dealing with not knowing what to draw again:

Here are some motel sign designs I'm working on for our new album cover. Work is still really busy, so I don't have any 'fun' drawings to put up right now.

I couldn't really think of anything to draw again today, so the only thing that turned out well was this sketch of Nurse Duckett; one of Yossarian's love interests in Catch 22. I'm not sure that it actually looks like how nurse Duckett was described in the book, but its close enough.

At the end of the day we got our new animation assignments and found out that we have to have the next episode animated and rendered in 10 days...so don't expect any updates for the next couple of weeks.

I couldn't think of anything to draw today, or rather what I wanted to draw wasn't turning out. So I instead just did some life drawing of some of my co-workers. The thumbnail in the left hand corner is what I was trying to draw, but for some reason whenever I drew it bigger, it looked like ass.

There will not be any drawings tomorrow because I've got to get all my shots on the farm before the weekend and I lost half of the day today because I was rendering with the wrong light rig.

Ted version 2. I like the space suit better in this one, but I'm not so sure how I feel about the design of Ted.

I also drew a bunch of the people I work with today, but I've already put a page of that up, so I didn't feel like posting something similar again.

Hey, sorry I didn't post on Friday. I did draw at work, but Kat was down for a visit, so I was otherwise occupied this weekend. That drawing is now back at work and will probably never end up getting posted...which is probably for the best.

Anyway, here's today's drawing of choice. I think I want to develop this character more for use in a possible short (or pitch should I ever get the opportunity...if you want to know my concept ask me about it, I don't want to post my ideas online incase they get stolen). His (working) name is Ted and he's in an alien space program.

Sorry about the lack of a post yesterday, but you knew it was going to happen at some point. I was too busy at work to draw; it was our deadline and I wanted to make sure I had all of my director corrections done on top of the animation that was due.

Anyway, here are today's sketches. I decided to draw some oddities and then an emo conversation. I'm finding I'm falling into my default style too readily again...I'm going to have to make a conscious effort to branch out.

As per request from a friend, I've finally gotten around to drawing dragons...although they're European style dragons, not Asian. I'm not sure if that's what she had in mind or not. I gave another go at a drawing I did a bit ago when I was having a bad drawing day. I'm not sure if it turned out any better or not...

When I can't think of what to draw, I generaly just sketch out tag ideas. I came up with another idea for our CD cover today too.

Also, I finished reading Ghost in the Shell 2 on the train today. It made no sense. The first one was confusing, but at least you could understand what was going on and there was some good action scenes. During this one it was almost impossible to tell what the hell was going on and all of the action occurred within the first 1/3 of the book. I don't recommend it unless you're a big fan of Shirow Masamune's work...or just like looking at drawings of girls with big breasts and constant up skirts...man does he enjoy his upskirts...

Since I've run out of novels to read, I've been reading the second Ghost in the Shell series on the train into work. You'll understand why I point this out after you see today's sketches. I realized too late that she's off balance (you can't erase pen) so you'll have to deal with it.

Today I finally got an acceptable drawing of the sketch I've been attempting over the past 3 days. The guy in the background isn't nearly as well arranged as in yesterday's drawing (you can hardly see him today) but at least the girl looks a hell of a lot better.

Having decided that I was done with that drawing, I also drew the girl dancing solo and the bald chick at an odd angle.

Well today went a bit better drawing wise. I thought it went a lot better until I scanned in my sketches and saw them 3x as big...suddenly all of my mistakes were way too glaring for me to post the images. So as a result you're getting the top 1/3 of one sketch and a torso that I sketched to try to figure out the motion of the girl that's dancing in the first sketch.

Today was a battle in frustration. Everything I was drawing was turning out like shit. Everything. I must have thrown out 10 pages worth of attempted sketches today. Anyway, here are the 2 sketches that I didn't immediately toss.

Side note: Why is it considered slutty when girls wear a crop top and a short skirt and not when they wear a bikini which clearly shows more skin.

Finally, I'm back to animating again...and with me animating, it seems as though my sketches have returned to their normal caliber too.

The first sketch is of a man I saw on the bus this morning on my way into work and a school girl...because, well that's what I felt like drawing. The second sketch is a re-do of the one I did yesterday because my brother said the girl wasn't angry enough at the guy who was staring at her chest. And finally the third is one for a friend. We made a bet back in highschool that she lost (and still owes me for) and this was what she was supposed to get if she won. She's been bugging me about it for years, so I finally drew it for her. Whether or not she'll get the original really depends on if she buys my chineese food or not.

Today sucked. A lot. One of my roommates turned off my alarm yesterday (I must have forgotten to reset it) so I ended up sleeping in and showed up at work late. Then at work I spent another mindless day setting up renders. The only plus side is that I got through another 200 pages of the Amber Spyglass so now I only have just under 100 left. Not bad, a 465 page book in 3 days.

Anyway, because my day was shitty, so were most of my drawings. The first drawing up started off with just the girl...but then I decided that with the way she was standing the picture needed some jack ass standing there staring at her tits. Please disregard how crappy his eyes look, like I said I was having a bad day. The second drawing started off as Fat Mike (I was listening to NoFX). It ended up not really looking like him (I saw him backstage at Warped Tour a couple years back...he is quite tall) but I still like the drawing. I left the tea stain there so you can judge how big my drawings actually are.

Today was a long day at work. I ended up having to work 4 hours of overtime to try to make up for lost time from Tuesday. Anyway, here's today's sketch, its off the creatures Mary meets near the beginning of the Amber Spyglass.

Allow me to appologize in advance for today's post. Work was particularly frustrating as our server was down until 2:30. But I feel compelled to post daily (at least during the week) so here's what I got. Keep in mind I've never drawn a polar bear before, let alone a polar bear eating a heart and I didn't have any reference. If I get time I'm actually going to work out a good version of the sketch on the left, but who knows when I'll get the time.

I couldn't really decide what to draw while I was at work today, so I just whipped up a sketch of Lyra and Pan from The Golden Compass. I think I'm going to work out a sketch of Iorek ripping out the dead kings heart tomorrow...or maybe not. Anyway, I'm open to suggestions for ideas.

Today was another busy day at work...and ontop of that I couldn't decide what I wanted to draw. I was feeling somewhat uninspired today. So as a result you're getting another 'useless' robot, a bunch of hands and...

...a bulldozer?

I was going to post two sketches today, but after scanning the second one and looking at it on the computer, I decided it looked like ass. So as a result, you only get the one today.

I was trying to draw this guy all day yesterday but he kept looking like garbage. So I gave it another go today and this one turned out allright. I want to do some research on medevil armour and start designing some cool helmets and armour and the like...maybe some will turn out well enough to make it to the internet.

I finally finished up my render work today, so I had less time to draw than I've had over the past couple of days. The man is a guy that I saw on my way to work in the morning...he looked a lot creepier in person than how he looks in my drawing. I think the tree house is pretty self explainatory.

Today at work I decided my theme should be birds. I'm not sure why, but thats what I decided uppon. Anyway, here's what came out...

Today was a pretty crappy day at work, so I drew some popsicle trees to take my mind off work. I also tried to draw a popsicle tongued frog catching its favourite food, squirrels, but it didn't turn out like I wanted it to. I'm going to have to look at references of frogs and squirrels and try again.

Busy day at work today, so I didn't have much time for drawing. These spaceships are all I came up with.

I have a lot of time to draw at work today because I had to re-reference in a lot of files on my older scenes (a process that can take up to 45 minutes, talk about lost time) so I got a lot of drawing done. Today's theme was robots...or it was after I finished re-drawing my land octopus and before I started doing some graffiti work.

The very last image is a picture of a body board that I did the illustration work for before I started at my job. My friend sent me the image earlier today. I'm quite happy with the way the print job turned out.
