So today I took a little step into a bigger world...I set up a deviant art page. You can visit it here:

Unfortunately "cryptic" and "crypticart" were taken, and DA doesn't allow -cryptic- or .cryptic. so I had to go with s2uare (square with a cursive q), the old stand by. I figure what I'll do from here on out is post my 'finished' art there and my ideas and sketches here.

For anyone who's interested, the comic con went quite well...so well in fact that I've signed up to do it again next year.

Good news everybody! I finally have software for my scanner, so I'm going to be able to start posting again! However, not this weekend...this weekend I'll be at the Toronto Fan Expo selling my artwork. Come by and say hi to me if you find me.

I saw the screener for 9 last night. It's much better than I thought it would be, and it looks really good for a $35M movie (by comparison, UP's budget was $175M). However, it's still something that I worked on, so I'm beyond critical of it. I'm now working on a new movie called Gnomeo and Juliet, due out some time in 2011.

Wow. It's been ages. One would think that I've been doing nothing with my life. Not true. I still don't have the correct software for my scanner, and even if I did, I'm so busy that I wouldn't have the time to scan anything anyway.

So what have I been doing you may ask? Well aside from sketching on my own time, I've been working on movies, as a lighter. I wrapped on a project called 9 a couple of months ago, and I'm in crunch time on another movie right now. When it's done hopefully I'll get a couple of weeks off before I start up on my next project. Maybe I'll be able to post some of my new work then.

I know its been a while since I've last posted, but bare with me. I've moved to Toronto and my home computer doesn't have internet access yet. Don't worry, I haven't stopped drawing, and as soon as I have access again I'll start posting my art.

So, its been a while since I've posted anything, but I have my reasons. It's been super busy at work and I've been caught up in reading the Wheel of Time series in my free time. If you haven't read the books, I recommend them; way better than the Lord of the Rings.

Anyway, here are the few sketches that I've come up with as of late. None of them are all that great and I've been dealing with not knowing what to draw again:

Here are some motel sign designs I'm working on for our new album cover. Work is still really busy, so I don't have any 'fun' drawings to put up right now.

I couldn't really think of anything to draw again today, so the only thing that turned out well was this sketch of Nurse Duckett; one of Yossarian's love interests in Catch 22. I'm not sure that it actually looks like how nurse Duckett was described in the book, but its close enough.

At the end of the day we got our new animation assignments and found out that we have to have the next episode animated and rendered in 10 days...so don't expect any updates for the next couple of weeks.
